Week 14 - Final Project Presentations, Part I

This week we shared and discussed students' final projects.

Students pose around Sydney Kaye's (left) "Farm to Table", a kitchen table of growing vegetables, with salads made of ingredients grown in the piece.

The salad contained kale, carrots, tomatoes and basil, all of which are growing inside the table installation.

Viviann Lu's piece utilizes spikes made out of resin and foods that are known to help relieve angina and other heart problems.

Viewed from below and the spikes are meant to represent the sharp pains associated with an attack

Students view and discuss the work.

Jiawen Chen's work in progress - a sculpture about food allergies

Daniel Topka's "Untitled (Wasteland)" utilized the bathroom space in the Fine Arts building, recontextualizing the T.S. Eliot poem Wasteland using vinyl letters on the mirrors on 5 floors of the building.

An interesting alignment of text and space in the 5th floor bathroom

The artist and his work.

Lala Lee's work in progress, "Not All Mushrooms are Created Equal" addresses the concern of soil toxicity of edible mushrooms

Students get a closer look.

For any students needing documentation images of their work, photos taken by Sally have been added to this folder inside the shared student google drive folder.
