Week 13 - Food Photography & Final Project Check-ins

This week we discussed some of the basics of food photography and had a food photo shoot.

Students made and styled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches which we then photographed in the studio.

This week we also had final project checkins.

We have two more class sessions left, Thursday 12/14 and Tuesday 12/19, which will both be devoted to presentation and critique of final projects, please see the revised schedule below. Remember that you should have an artist statement of 2-5 paragraphs to accompany your work. Please bring enough for the whole class (13 copies).

Week 12 - Pre-Final Critique

This week we had check-ins and critique for final project progress which will be due on the last two class sessions, 12/14 and 12/19. Please note that 12/19 is a TUESDAY which is a makeup date for the week of class missed for Thanksgiving. Students will be split into two groups, each presenting on one of the dates. See the following post for updated schedule of which students are presenting on which dates.

Please note that all students are required to attend all sessions and are expected to actively participate in the critique of their peers' work.

Continue work on your final projects. Anyone that did not present work last week on 11/30 should present their final project work next week on 12/7. Also any outstanding assignment work for your class blogs should be completed by this week (please send an email to Sally and Kirby with any blog updates/makeup assignment work).

Week 11 - Tattfoo Tan Studio Visit

This week we went on a field trip to visit the studio of Tattfoo Tan.

HOMEWORK / FOR NEXT TIME


We have the week of Thanksgiving off from class and the following week, 11/30 we will have our pre-final critique.

Everyone should have something to show.

Bring as much as you can toward the finished version of your final projects including prototypes, first iterations, a dry run of a performance, etc. It should be more than sketches or ideas at this point. This is a great opportunity for you to get in-progress feedback from your professors and peers.
